Support for the March of Tolerance PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 15 November 2011 15:56
The Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM), the Macedonian Institute for Media and the Independent Union of Journalists and Media Workers, express public support to this year’s “March of Tolerance”, which is dedicated to the freedom of expression. The March is organized by the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights of Republic of Macedonia and will start in front of Museum of Skopje, on 16 November, at 11:55am.

As organizations dedicated to preserving and fostering professional and ethical journalism, which is the basis of democracy and freedom, we completely share the feeling of need for healthy critical public awareness, with focus on fostering and protecting the need for public debate and freedom of expression.

Without freedom of expression there’s no journalism that is understood as a public good, with capacity to resist all influences and pressures from the politics and business, as well as to contribute in protecting and promoting the rights of the citizens.
